CEREC is a CAD/CAM computer system which allows us to generate superb quality porcelain restorations (crowns, inlays/onlays, veneers) in a single visit. Dr. D’Amico has been a CEREC user since 2009. He is a Patterson Dental Company CEREC trainer. This means that often lectures to new users and helps them to integrate the technology into their own practices. He also lecures at dental meetings and to 3rd year Tufts University School of Dental Medicine students on the workflows of digital dentistry.
How does CEREC work?
CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology, which stands for computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing, to design and mill restorations. We can use custom staining techniques to make the restorations look very much like your natural tooth.
Accidents do happen…
This patient had snowball accident and fractured her two front teeth. CEREC technology was used to quickly fabricate two crowns that matched her existing dentition.
